Setting Up Anniversary Emails & Text Messages

Overview

LeadCenter lets you automatically send birthday, marriage, and client since anniversary messages to your clients by email, text message, or both. You can configure each type from the Anniversary Email Settings page.

Each anniversary type has its own tab with the same configuration options — allowing you to select your contact segment, choose when to send, and pick which email or text template to use.

Configuration Steps

Follow these steps to configure any of the three anniversary message types:

  1. Select one of the tabs: Birthday Anniversary, Marriage Anniversary, or Client Since Anniversary.
  2. Choose a contact segment that includes the clients you want to send messages to. If you don’t have one, create it first from the Segments page.
  3. Set the time of day to send the anniversary messages.
  4. Select which type(s) of message to send — Email, Text Message, or Both.
  5. Choose your From Email and From Phone Number (for texts).
  6. Pick a message template. By default, each anniversary type includes a basic preloaded template for both email and text messages.

Editing or Creating Templates

You can customize the default templates or create new ones at any time:

Automatic Sending

Once configured, LeadCenter automatically sends anniversary messages once per day to all qualifying contacts in the selected segment.

Contact Exclusions

Some contacts are automatically excluded from receiving anniversary messages to ensure data accuracy and respect client context:

  • Birthday Anniversaries: Contacts with a Date of Death or Termination Date will not receive these messages.
  • Marriage Anniversaries: Contacts with a Date of Death, Termination Date, or a Marital Status of Single, Divorced, or empty will not receive these messages.
  • Client Since Anniversaries: Contacts with a Date of Death or Termination Date will not receive these messages.

Note: These exclusions apply even if the contacts appear in the selected segment.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure your Email Marketing and Text Messaging subscriptions are active.
  • For text messages, make sure your messaging numbers are carrier-approved.
  • Emails and texts are disabled by default until configured and enabled.

Troubleshooting

  • If messages aren’t sending, confirm that your subscriptions are active and your carrier approval is completed.
  • Check that your segment includes eligible contacts and that none are excluded by the automatic rules above.
  • Verify your templates are active and selected under the correct anniversary type.
