Templates and Workflows Categories

* Page referenced in this article: template and workflow categories page.

Template and workflow categories help you organize your templates and workflows into clear groups, so they are easier to find and manage as your library grows.

Tip: When you search for a template in a dropdown, the category name appears at the beginning of the result. This makes it easier to quickly recognize the right template, especially in places like appointment confirmations, reminders, and workflow actions.

Default Categories

When you create an account in LeadCenter, the system includes these default categories:

  • Appointments
  • Events
  • Marketing
  • Operations
  • Sales
  • Others

How Categories Help

  • Templates are easier to find — category names appear in template dropdowns and search results.
  • Workflows stay organized — categories help group similar workflows together.
  • Your library stays cleaner — categories make it easier to manage a growing set of templates and automations.

How to Create a Category

  1. Go to the Template and Workflow Categories page.
  2. Click the option to add a new category.
  3. Enter the category name.
  4. Save the category.

Use category names that clearly describe how the templates or workflows will be used.

How to Edit a Category

  1. Find the category you want to update.
  2. Click the edit option.
  3. Change the category name.
  4. Save your changes.

Renaming a category can help keep your naming consistent as your processes evolve.

How to Delete a Category

  1. Find the category you want to remove.
  2. Click the delete option.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Important: Deleting a category does not delete the templates or workflows assigned to it. Those items remain in LeadCenter, but they become uncategorized.

Best Practices

  • Use categories that match how your team actually works, such as Onboarding, Follow-Up, Compliance, or Seasonal Campaigns.
  • Keep category names short and easy to scan.
  • Use consistent naming so your team knows where to look.
  • Review categories regularly and combine duplicates when needed.
  • Avoid creating too many categories unless they truly make templates and workflows easier to find.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a workflow or template belong to more than one category?

What happens if I delete a category?

The category is removed, but the workflows and templates assigned to it are not deleted. They simply become uncategorized.
