Use this page to add or edit documents. Contacts can also upload documents through the LeadCenter secure client portal.

What is LeadCenter Secure Client Portal?

With LeadCenter, you can set up a secure client portal on your own website (e.g., secureportal.yourcompany.com). From there clients can securely access:

  1. The financial questionnaire.
  2. Secure document storage.

Follow these steps to enable your Secure Client Portal on your website:

  1. Add the following records to your domain DNS.
  2. TYPE: CNAME
    NAME: fq
    CONTENT: fq.leadcenter.ai
    TTL: Auto

  3. Send an email to support@leadcenter.ai with the domain details and domain host name to request installing SSL certificate for your domain host Secure Client Portal.
  4. LeadCenter support will install the certificate within three business days.

As part of client portal security, each client will have a unique Client Portal URL. The URL will look like this for the document storage section:

fq.yourwebsite.com/UNIQE-NUMBER/dms/documents

This unique number is different for each contact.

Tip: In email and text message templates, there are shortcodes for Client Portal. The following are shortcodes for document storage and financial questionnaire links.

  • Financial questionnaire shortcode: (fq_url)
  • Secure document portal shortcode: (dms_url)

Note: We recommend using the domain host fq. But, you can use any domain host name you like.


Rename a Document

You can change the name of a document directly from the Edit dialog. This is useful when a file was uploaded with an unclear filename, such as scan_0423.pdf, and you want it to appear in LeadCenter with a clearer name.

Where You Can Rename a Document

The same Edit dialog is used anywhere documents are listed, including:

  • Dashboard → DMS → Documents
  • Contact details → Documents
  • Account details → Documents
  • Family details → Documents
  • Client Secure Portal when a client edits their own uploaded document

How to Rename a Document

  1. Find the document in any documents list.
  2. Click the document’s Actions menu.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. In the Name field, enter the new document name.
  5. Optionally update the Category, Description, or Is private? setting.
  6. Click Update document.

After saving, the updated name appears throughout LeadCenter anywhere that document is shown.

Good to know: Renaming changes the display name only. It does not change the file content, upload date, or file size.

Rules for the Name Field

  • A document name is required.
  • The maximum length is 255 characters.
  • Special characters and non-English characters are allowed.
