Capturing Leads by Email Redirects

* Page referenced in this article: email redirect page.

Email Redirects let you forward inbound lead emails (from your website's contact form, marketplace inquiries, referral platforms, etc.) to a unique LeadCenter address. LeadCenter parses the email and creates a contact automatically.

How It Works

  1. You generate a unique LeadCenter email address (format: leads-XXXXXXX@oryxmail.com).
  2. You configure your email provider to forward matching emails to that address.
  3. Each forwarded email is converted into a contact, attributed to the assigned Source.

Step 1: Generate a LeadCenter Email Address

  1. Go to Email Redirect.
  2. Click + Generate Email.
  3. Select the Source (and optional Campaign) to attribute these leads to.
  4. Save.

The generated address looks like leads-1234567@oryxmail.com.

Step 2: Forward Emails to the LeadCenter Address

Set up automated forwarding from your email provider:

Tip: Use a forwarding rule that matches only relevant emails (for example, by sender or subject) so you don't forward unrelated mail.

Step 3: Test the Setup

  1. Send (or trigger) a real or sample lead email to the inbox you set up to forward.
  2. Confirm the email is forwarded to the LeadCenter address.
  3. Check the Sales Pipeline for the new contact.
  4. Verify the assigned Source on the contact's record.

Custom Email Parsers (Enterprise)

For Enterprise customers, LeadCenter can build custom email parsers that extract specific fields (name, email, phone, property of interest, asset level, etc.) from the email body and place them in the right contact fields. Email support@leadcenter.ai to request a custom parser.

Best Practices

  • One LeadCenter address per Source. A unique address per source keeps attribution clean.
  • Use restrictive forwarding rules. Only forward lead emails — not personal mail.
  • Strip signatures or footers when possible to reduce parser noise.
  • Document the setup. If you change email providers later, the forwarding rule will need to be re-created.
  • Test after every change to your inbox rules or signature.

FAQs

Will the same email update an existing contact?

Yes. If the inbound email's sender matches an existing contact's primary email, the email is logged on that contact rather than creating a duplicate.

What happens if my forwarding rule loops?

Email providers typically protect against loops. Configure forwarding to forward outside your domain and to the LeadCenter address only.

Can I attribute the same address to different campaigns?

Each generated address is tied to one Source/Campaign. For multiple campaigns, generate multiple addresses.

How accurate is the parsing?

Standard parsing extracts sender name and email. For richer field extraction, request a custom parser (Enterprise).

What if the lead email comes from a no-reply address?

The contact will be created with that no-reply address as the primary email. A custom parser can extract the original requester's email from the body.
