A Medium is how a lead actually reached LeadCenter — a phone call, a website form, an SMS keyword, a Zapier integration, and so on. Every contact in LeadCenter has a Source, which tells you where they came from, and a Medium, which tells you how they got in.
Mediums are a system list that LeadCenter manages. They cannot be created or renamed because they are used by automated contact capturing.
Available Mediums
LeadCenter currently supports these mediums:
Email Redirect — forwarded emails captured as contacts.
Phone Redirect — inbound calls to a virtual phone number.
Website Form — submissions from LeadCenter Form Builder or external website forms.
Offline — manual offline entry.
Chat — chat integration captures.
Zapier — contacts created through the Zapier integration.
Calendar — bookings on a public calendar or contacts added while creating an appointment.
CSV Upload — contacts imported through a CSV file.
Redtail — contacts synced from the Redtail CRM integration.
SmartAsset — SmartAsset marketplace captures.
Event — early event capture.
Financial Seminar — contacts from Financial Seminar Services.
Leading Response — contacts from Leading Response.
LeadJig — contacts from LeadJig.
Event Registration Form — registrants for LeadCenter events.
LeadCenter Contact / Action Menu — contacts added from the Sales Pipeline or Contacts page.
SMS — captures from Text-in keywords.
BigMarker — contacts from the BigMarker integration.
Wealthbox — contacts from the Wealthbox integration.
RingCentral — contacts from the RingCentral integration.
GoToConnect — contacts from the GoToConnect integration.
Workshops for Retirement — contacts from the Workshops for Retirement integration.
Dialpad — contacts from the Dialpad integration.
Intulse — contacts from the Intulse integration.
Some mediums are visible only when the related integration or module is enabled on your account.
How a Medium Is Assigned
The Medium is set automatically by the capture path:
A call to a virtual phone number sets Medium to Phone Redirect.
A form submission sets Medium to Website Form.
A text-in keyword reply sets Medium to SMS.
A Zapier-created contact sets Medium to Zapier.
A manual entry from the Contacts page or Sales Pipeline sets Medium to LeadCenter Contact / Action Menu.
A CSV import sets Medium to CSV Upload.
You can override the Medium on Zapier actions and the CSV importer. For other capture paths, the Medium is determined by the path itself.
Where the Medium Appears
On the contact details page in the Important Information section.
In quick filters and advanced filters on the Contacts and Sales Pipeline pages.
In Segments and Workflow conditions.
In Marketing reports that compare lead capture by channel.
FAQs
Can I create a custom Medium?
No. Mediums are a system list LeadCenter maintains because they drive automated capturing.
Why is the Mediums page hidden in my sidebar?
The Mediums admin page exists at /dashboard/leads/medium, but the sidebar entry is currently hidden for most accounts. The list is read-only either way.
What is the difference between Source and Medium?
Source is the marketing channel, such as Google Ads, Seminars, or Referral. Medium is how the lead arrived, such as a call, form, text, or integration. The same Source can have leads coming in through multiple Mediums.
