How Event Capture Works

Events and seminars are usually tied to a Source or Campaign. When contacts register for or are added to an event, LeadCenter can use that event context to keep attribution and follow-up organized.

  • Use a parent Source such as Seminars, Workshops, or Events.
  • Use a Campaign for the specific event, such as Atlanta Retirement Seminar - October 2026.
  • Use event registration and attendee activity to support follow-up and reporting.

Create an Event

  1. Go to Marketing → Events.
  2. Click Add New Event.
  3. Enter the event details shown in your account.
  4. Connect the event to the appropriate Source or Campaign when that option is available.
  5. Save the event.

If your account shows additional event setup options, such as reminder settings, registration settings, or attendee settings, configure them based on your campaign needs.

Use Campaigns for Individual Events

For clean reporting, create one Campaign per event under a parent Source.

Example:

  • Source: Seminars
  • Campaign: Atlanta Dinner Seminar - October 2026
  • Campaign: Tampa Retirement Workshop - November 2026

This lets you compare each event separately while still rolling all event performance up under the parent Seminar or Event Source.

Capturing Registrants

Contacts may be captured into an event through a registration form, integration, manual entry, or another connected capture method depending on your setup.

After registration, confirm that the contact appears in LeadCenter and that the correct Source or Campaign is associated with the event or registration flow.

Follow Up After the Event

Use LeadCenter to manage post-event follow-up.

  • Review registrants and attendees.
  • Create tasks for your team.
  • Use workflows where appropriate.
  • Move contacts through the Sales Pipeline based on registration, attendance, appointment booking, or next steps.

Best Practices

  • Create one Campaign per event. This keeps event ROI reporting clean.
  • Use consistent naming. Include the city, topic, and date when useful.
  • Test the registration flow before promotion. Confirm that registrants appear in LeadCenter correctly.
  • Check Source and Campaign attribution. Make sure new contacts are tied to the right event campaign.
  • Review attendees after the event. Use attendance and appointment activity to prioritize follow-up.

FAQs

Where do I create an event?

Go to Marketing → Events and click Add New Event.

Should every seminar be its own Source?

Usually no. Use a parent Source such as Seminars, then create each seminar as a Campaign under that Source.

Can I track ROI by event?

Yes. Use separate Campaigns for each event so registrations, appointments, and production can be reviewed by event.

Can I use workflows for event follow-up?

Yes. Use the available workflow triggers and conditions in your account to automate tasks, reminders, notifications, and follow-up sequences.
