Managing Contacts Marketing Subscriptions

Each contact has a unique subscribe/unsubscribe link for managing email preferences. Ensure that you do not share one contact's subscribe link with another.

Marketing opt-ins allow you to specify which medium (e.g., phone, email, text message) is permitted for each contact. The following options are available:

  • Don't call: The contact has requested not to receive any more phone calls.
  • No invite: Indicates that a contact should not be invited to events.
  • Don't email: If the contact has requested not to receive transactional emails* or has unsubscribed from your mailing list using the provided link.
  • Don't mass email: If the contact has requested not to receive promotional or marketing emails** or has unsubscribed from your mailing list using the provided link.
  • Do not mail: If the contact has requested not to receive any mail at their home or work address.
  • Don't mass mail: If the contact has requested not to receive any marketing mail at their home or work address.
  • Marketing text opt-in: Enable this option if the contact has opted in to receive marketing text messages. This will be overridden if the contact sends STOP or QUIT to one of your phone numbers in LeadCenter.
  • Do not text: If the contact has requested not to receive transactional text messages or has sent STOP or QUIT to one of your phone numbers. The contact can send START to subscribe again.
  • Don't mass text: If the contact has requested not to receive mass marketing text messages or has sent STOP or QUIT to one of your phone numbers. The contact can send START to subscribe again.

* Transactional emails and text messages:

  • Emails and text messages sent directly from the contact's Actions menu -> Send email option.
  • Appointment confirmation emails, email and text reminders, and follow-up emails.
  • Events confirmation emails, email and text reminders, and follow-up emails.
  • Client review email and text reminders.
  • Any automated email classified as transactional by LeadCenter.

* Marketing and promotional emails and text messages:

  • Emails and text messages sent from scheduled email marketing and text message campaigns.
  • Emails and text messages sent using workflows.
  • This table shows the effect of "do not email" and "do not mass email" in contact records in email sending from the various LeadCenter systems. An X indicates that the email will not be sent.
