Not Receiving 2FA Authentication Texts from Insurance Carriers or Microsoft

Question

We have been having some issues lately receiving 2FA texts from various insurance carriers. These texts are being sent to our virtual office number in LeadCenter.AI. We have been able to receive texts from clients, so I am not sure why the texts from insurance carriers are not coming through. Thanks!

Answer

Some insurance carriers—and even providers like Microsoft—do not allow sending two-factor authentication (2FA) codes to virtual phone numbers.

Here are a couple of steps to help troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Try using your personal mobile number.
If the 2FA message is successfully delivered to your personal mobile, it's likely that the insurance carrier’s text provider blocks messages to virtual numbers.
  2. Contact the carrier’s support.
You can reach out to the insurance carrier’s support team to confirm whether they allow 2FA messages to be sent to virtual phone numbers.
