CAN-SPAM Act Email Requirements
Under the CAN-SPAM Act (U.S. legislation governing email marketing), two essential requirements for commercial emails are:
Unsubscribe Link
Include a clear and conspicuous unsubscribe or opt-out mechanism.
The unsubscribe link must remain active for at least 30 days after sending.
Honor opt-out requests within 10 business days.
Postal Address
Include a valid physical postal address (street address, registered P.O. box, or registered private mailbox).
Transactional Emails:
The above requirements generally do not apply to transactional emails such as:
Receipts or order confirmations
Appointment reminders
Direct personal responses
Non-compliance with CAN-SPAM requirements can result in significant fines and penalties.

Shortcodes are required for:
Scheduled marketing emails (bulk sends)
Workflow emails
Event email invitations
Shortcodes are not required for transactional emails, such as:
Appointment and event confirmation emails, reminders, and follow-up emails
Transactional emails: Emails sent directly from the contact dashboard to a contact
