Black Diamond Integration

Connect Black Diamond to LeadCenter to sync custodian accounts and holdings, then link them to the correct Financial Accounts under each contact. This helps keep portfolio data organized and tied to the right client records.


Overview

After you connect Black Diamond, LeadCenter imports your Black Diamond accounts (and related holdings). You’ll then link each imported account to the correct LeadCenter financial account using one of these options:

  • Link to an existing issued account (when the account already exists in LeadCenter)
  • Create a new main account for a contact (when you need to create a new account)
  • Create a new sleeve account under an existing main issued account
  • Auto link (when LeadCenter detects a possible match by account number)

Note: When you connect Black Diamond, LeadCenter requests a batch export. Once it’s ready, LeadCenter automatically imports your accounts and holdings.


Requirements

  • Access to Settings in LeadCenter
  • Your Black Diamond credentials:
    • Client ID
    • Client Secret
    • Black Diamond Username
    • Black Diamond Password

How to Enable

  1. Go to SettingsBasic SettingsIntegrationsCustodians.
  2. Find the Black Diamond card and click Connect.
  3. Enter your Client ID, Client Secret, Black Diamond Username, and Password.
  4. Click Connect.

Once connected, the Black Diamond card shows a green Connected badge and LeadCenter begins importing your data.


How to Use

View unlinked Black Diamond accounts

  1. Go to Financial Accounts.
  2. In the page header, click the Unlinked accounts dropdown.
  3. Select Black Diamond.

This opens the Black Diamond unlinked accounts list. Use the search bar to find accounts by account number, account name, ID, or amount.

Quick link using “Possible match”

If LeadCenter detects a match based on account number, you’ll see it in the Possible match column.

  • Click the matched account ID to review details before linking.
  • Click Auto link to link immediately.

Link accounts individually (Find & Link)

  1. Next to an unlinked account, click Find & Link.
  2. Choose one of the options below:
  • Link to an existing issued account
    Search by account ID/number, amounts, or contact details (name, email, mobile), then click Link.
  • Create a new main account for a contact
    Search for the contact, then click Select to create the account and link it to Black Diamond.
  • Create a new sleeve account under an existing main issued account
    Search for the main account, then click Select to create a sleeve account, link it to Black Diamond, and attach it to the selected main account.

Tip: Use Link to an existing issued account first to avoid creating duplicates.

Bulk actions (optional)

If you have multiple accounts to link, you can select several accounts in the list and click Find & Link to link or create multiple accounts at once (for example, creating multiple sleeve accounts under one main account).


Where to Find Results

After linking, you can review your linked accounts list and open the related records.

  1. From the unlinked accounts page, click Linked accounts list in the top-right.
  2. Click the Linked Account ID to open the account record, or click the Linked Contact to open the contact record.

Troubleshooting

  • I can’t connect Black Diamond: Double-check your credentials and try again. If you still can’t connect, contact support@leadcenter.ai.
  • I don’t see any accounts after connecting: The first import may take a little time. Refresh the page and check Financial AccountsUnlinked accountsBlack Diamond.
  • Auto link isn’t finding matches: Make sure account numbers match exactly in both systems. Remove dashes, spaces, or extra characters.
  • I linked the wrong account: Go to Linked accounts list, click Unlink, then re-link the account using Find & Link.

FAQs

How do I unlink a Black Diamond account?

  1. Go to the Linked accounts list.
  2. Click Unlink next to the account.
  3. Confirm by clicking Yes, unlink.

The account returns to the unlinked list and can be linked again at any time.

How do I disconnect Black Diamond entirely?

  1. Go to SettingsBasic SettingsIntegrationsCustodians.
  2. On the Black Diamond card, click Disconnect.
  3. Confirm by clicking Yes, Disconnect.

Note: Disconnecting stops future syncing and account activity updates from Black Diamond. Only disconnect if you are migrating to a different custodian or permanently ending the integration.


Best Practices

  • Standardize account numbers in both systems so matching works reliably (remove dashes, spaces, and extra characters).
  • Start with Possible match accounts first, then use Auto link after verifying details.
  • Link in batches and review as you go to reduce mistakes.
  • Check unlinked accounts regularly as new accounts can appear over time.
  • AUM account type: Accounts created from Black Diamond are created as AUM accounts in LeadCenter.
