New Tasks Page Design: A Better, More Intuitive Experience

We’ve redesigned the Tasks Page and Tasks Section inside Contact Details to enhance usability, streamline navigation, and improve visibility. The new interface introduces a cleaner layout, better task organization, and faster filtering options, allowing you to manage your tasks more efficiently.

Key Enhancements

1. Improved Sidebar Navigation

Before: Task categories and filters were only accessible via dropdowns.

Now: A dedicated sidebar menu lets you quickly filter tasks by:

  • Task Lists – Organize tasks based on predefined lists.
  • Categories – Group tasks under relevant categories for better tracking.
  • Task Views (Inbox, Today, Upcoming):
    • Inbox: Tasks that don’t belong to any task list.
    • Today: Tasks due today.
    • Upcoming: View of all future tasks.
  • On the Tasks Section inside Contact Details: The layout has been redesigned for better visibility and ease of use, without a sidebar.

Additionally, by default, the page filters tasks assigned to the logged-in user and displays "Today" tasks to keep you focused on urgent priorities.

2. Enhanced Task Display & Organization

Before: Tasks were displayed in a dense list without clear status indicators.

Now:

  • Color-coded status labels (e.g., In Progress, Completed, Overdue) make task progress clear.
  • A more structured layout improves readability and interaction.
  • Quick action buttons allow you to manage tasks with fewer clicks.
  • Priority Starring: Tasks retain the priority star indicator for important tasks.

3. More Powerful Search & Filtering

Before: Searching for tasks was limited and slow.

Now:

  • A more prominent search bar allows filtering by task name, contact, or notes.
  • Predefined filters help refine task lists by task owner, task views, and task status.
  • The Owner Dropdown has been moved to the top-left for quick user filtering.
  • Task Status Filtering has been moved to the top-right dropdown, improving accessibility.
