LeadCenter now gives admins more control over how teams move leads to closed stages. You can now choose whether users are prompted to enter a note when moving a lead to a closed stage.
What’s New
New admin setting for closed-stage notes — Turn the note prompt on or off from Pipeline Stage settings.
More flexibility for different workflows — Keep the prompt enabled when notes are required, or disable it for faster stage changes and bulk updates.
How It Works
By default, when a user moves a lead to a closed stage that is not a won stage, LeadCenter prompts them to enter a note explaining why the lead was closed. Admins and owners can now disable that prompt for the entire account.
How to configure it
Admins and owners can turn the closed-stage note prompt on or off from Stage settings.
Go to Settings → Database lists → Pipeline Stages.
Click Stage settings in the top-right corner.
Turn Prompt for a note when moving a lead to a closed stage on or off.
Click Save.
When the prompt is enabled
Users are asked to enter a note when moving a lead to a closed stage from the Contact Details page.
Closed-stage bulk actions continue showing the notes section where applicable.
Users can document why the lead was closed as part of the stage change flow.
When the prompt is disabled
Moving a lead to a closed stage works like moving to an open stage — the stage changes immediately with no note modal.
Bulk stage updates for closed stages do not show the notes section.
Users can still add notes manually at any time from the contact record.
Important notes
This setting applies only to closed stages that are not won stages.
The won stage modal still appears as usual.
Only admins and owners can change this setting.
The setting applies to all users in the account.
Why It Matters
More control for admins — Decide whether closure notes should be required in your pipeline process.
Faster lead management — Skip the note prompt when speed matters, especially during bulk updates.
Flexible documentation — Teams that need closure notes can keep the prompt on, while others can rely on manual notes instead.
