Update: Form Submissions Can Now Fill Missing Contact Details

LeadCenter can now fill in a missing Email or Phone field when a new form submission matches an existing contact.
This helps keep contact records more complete automatically, without overwriting information that is already saved.
What’s New
Missing email backfill — If an existing contact has no email and a matched form submission includes one, LeadCenter adds it to the contact.
Missing phone backfill — If an existing contact has no phone number and a matched form submission includes one, LeadCenter adds it to the contact.
No overwriting — Existing email and phone values are never replaced by a form submission. To change a saved email or phone number, edit the contact directly.
How It Works
When a visitor submits a LeadCenter form, LeadCenter checks whether the submission matches an existing contact using the existing duplicate-matching rules. If the contact is missing an email or phone number, and the submission includes that missing detail, LeadCenter fills it in automatically.
For example, if Jane Smith already exists in your account with a phone number but no email, and she submits a form using the same name and phone number plus her email address, LeadCenter keeps the existing contact and adds the missing email.
Please note: Existing email and phone values are never overwritten. If the contact already has a value, LeadCenter keeps it even if the new form submission includes a different one.

External Forms — third-party websites using the LeadCenter embed script
Form Builder forms — public form URLs and embedded forms
LeadCenter-hosted website forms — contact forms on websites built inside LeadCenter
Good to Know
Appointment and event registrations use a separate flow and are not changed by this update.
CSV imports and API-created contacts are not affected.
The Lead Updated workflow trigger fires when a missing email or phone is added to an existing contact.
Zapier and other integrations subscribed to lead updates receive the change the same way they would for any other contact update.
