New: Organize Tasks with Custom Stages and Kanban View
05/21/2026
You can now organize tasks using custom stages and manage them visually with a drag-and-drop Kanban view. This gives your team more flexibility to track work the way your firm actually handles it, while keeping existing task statuses, reports, workflows, and integrations working as expected.
What’s New
Create custom task stages — Build stages that match your team’s workflow, such as To Do, Awaiting Client, Compliance Review, or Ready for Review.
Use the new Kanban view — Switch from the task list to a column-based board and drag tasks between stages.
Filter and review tasks by stage — Use the updated Status filter to narrow the task list to a specific stage.
Move tasks in bulk — Select multiple tasks from the list view and change their stage in one action.
See task stages at a glance — Task rows now show the task’s stage with a small color indicator, making it easier to understand where each task stands.
Create and organize custom task stages that match your firm’s workflow.
This means your team can use more specific stages while LeadCenter still keeps the underlying task status consistent for reporting, workflows, and integrations.
Please note: Each stage is tied to a built-in status. A stage’s status cannot be changed later, so choose the correct status when creating the stage.
On the Tasks page, you can switch between the traditional List view and the new Kanban view. In Kanban, each visible stage appears as a column, and tasks can be dragged from one column to another to update their stage.
Use the Kanban view to manage tasks by stage and drag tasks between columns.
The Kanban view also respects your task filters. For example, if you filter to open tasks, completed and cancelled stage columns are hidden so you can focus on active work.
You can also change stages from the task form, the task row action menu, the task details panel, the Kanban board, or the bulk action bar on the task list.
Good to know: Existing tasks will keep their current status and will be placed into the default stage for that status. Your existing reports, workflows, and integrations continue to work.
Additional Improvements
Default stages — Each built-in status has one default stage that new tasks use automatically.
Stage ordering — The order you set in Settings controls the order of Kanban columns, stage filters, and change-stage menus.
Collapsible Kanban columns — Collapse columns you do not need to focus on, and LeadCenter will remember your collapsed columns.
Infinite scroll in Kanban columns — Columns load more tasks as you scroll, helping large task lists stay manageable.
Clearer task details — Task details now show the task’s own Stage separately from the related contact’s Pipeline Stage.
Why It Matters
Match LeadCenter to your real workflow — Track tasks using the stages your team actually uses day to day.
Make task progress easier to see — Kanban columns give your team a visual way to understand task flow and bottlenecks.
Move work forward faster — Drag tasks between stages or update multiple tasks at once from the list view.
Keep reporting and automations stable — Custom stages add more detail without breaking the built-in task statuses your workflows and integrations rely on.
